Twin Bluffs Confusion[edit]

I just removed the Twin Bluffs info and Sixa369's excellent photo of the thunderbird petroglyph. Bob Boszhardt of the Mississippi Valley Archaeological Center is clear that Twin Bluffs and Lemonweir Glyphs are two different rock art sites, miles apart, and he should know.

I may be the one who started this mix-up, years ago on National Register of Historic Places listings in Juneau County, Wisconsin. A couple other places on the web also seem to conflate the two sites, like [1], and of course the Wikipedia mirror sites. Regardless of who started it, I'm cleaning up at least this bit.

ThunderBird Rock Carved Petroglyph in Western Wisconsin

Sixa369's photo of the thunderbird is too good to lose, so I linked to it from Juneau County, Wisconsin and Thunderbird (mythology). If someone sees a useful place to link the other close-up photo, I'm keeping it here for now. Jeff the quiet (talk) 05:28, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
