Thinking about how to reorganize the Learning Standards page to better capture the rich political and philosophical history thereof. My own understanding and background is with US standards; it would be a pleasure to gain additional reorg assistance from someone with expertise in European or other international standards sets to create a more cohesive POV. Reorg might be: Philosophical Underpinnings, History , Approaches to defining/creating, Examples . Daveplml (talk) 14:10, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of Learning Standards[edit]

I restored a change that was made last year, by an IP address, that reduced the scope of a learning standard to only what the learner knows rather than what they can do which is clearly also something that some learning standards cover. I also held back from talking about "learning DATA standards" which includes controlled vocabulary for learning oriented data elements. This focuses on standards for measuring student Knowledge, Skills, Aptitudes or Attitudes (which has recently become more standard as Socio-Emotional Learning becomes more prevalent).
