Episode Listing Inaccuracies[edit]

Hello,

After reverting an IP who claimed Episode 4 was a "Special" without citing a source, NJZombie added back in the information without citing a source. The official website clearly states Episode 4 as being "The Bridge to Total Freedom". Is there another source representing this differently? -- Dane talk 04:49, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wasn't even aware it had been changed before my edit as I didn't look at the article history first. As far as a source goes, as I mentioned in my edit summary, the episode itself says that "The Rise of David Miscavige" is episode 4. Considering the previous episode does not follow the format of the regular episodes, it seems safe to say that's the case and "The Bridge to Total Freedom" was a special episode. If choosing between a website that could have been written incorrectly by a web administrator or the episode itself that flat out says it's episode 4, I'd personally go with the episode.NJZombie (talk) 05:04, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Additionally, Mike Rinder's own blog states that "The Bridge to Total Freedom" is one of 5 Special episodes to be interspersed through the regular season.NJZombie (talk) 05:08, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's safe to say that A&E's way of numbering their episodes is faulty at best. Their own numbering doesn't align with what their actual episodes say they are when aired. That being said, to be completely accurate, the episodes in the first season that were specials and not regular episodes should be numbered as such, regardless of what their erroneous website says. The article even clarifies that three of the episodes in the first season are special episodes and then goes on to list them as regular episodes right under that. It's contradicting and confusing.
