Find correct name
The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere.
The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.
Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

Do we have a source that verifies that the English name is "Register" over the French "Registres"? My impression was that the English translation would be "Letters" not "Register". --Elonka 23:34, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
First of all I am wrong about the Latin word: the form is registrum not register. As I understand papal registers, they are big ledgers in which important correspondence was recorded. Sometimes a complete letter is copied verbatim, sometimes only a summary. Guzman says in the article cited here, "The Register of Pope Innocent IV contains a letter..." Oh! I missed this...er, five years ago. Anyway, I'm sure it's all clear now, but Innocent IV's papal register is collection of his letters and other documents, and especially the edition of them published in three volumes by Elie Berger in the 1880s. On that note, I was coincidentally doing some research in there and noticed that there is a "Friar Lawrence" present in the Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1247. Apparently he was Innocent's Apostolic Penitentiary, and was a papal legate. Was it this Lawrence? If he didn't make it all the way to Karakorum, he may have at least made it as far as Acre.
