RE: Issues with Lawrence Oluwawemimo Arokodare[edit]

Good day Friends, Kindly help me point out the issues with the article and ways of eliminating them. Regards. Daniel U. A. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ugochukwu Daniel Anucha (talkcontribs)

@Ugochukwu Daniel Anucha: The issues listed are:
  1. This article is an orphan, meaning that no other Wikipedia articles link to it. Unlike paper encyclopedias, Wikipedia is unique in that articles link to one another, allowing readers to find read about the topics they are interested in, and to read more deeply about concepts within those articles by clicking through to linked articles. It is unlikely any will find this article on Mr Arokodare unless it is linked from another article that mentions him.
  2. This article needs better citations for verification. Wikipedia relies on citations to external sources to allow its readers to verify that the information contained in the article is true. If readers can't find the external sources, they can't verify the information. In the case of this article, three of the four citations are to lectures given at the Nigerian Society of Engineers. If these lectures are archived online somewhere, the website address should be provided as part of the citation. If they are not online, in what form are they available to the general public for review? If they are not available for public inspection, they don't represent valid citations, because the public can't use them to verify the information cited.
I hope I have clarified the issues for you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:43, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: full citation needed[edit]

Good day, I have acknowledged the individuals who delivered the lectures I cited in my article on Lawrence Oluwawemimo Arokodare. This will be improved upon in the future as more literatures are written on his contribution to humanity. Regards. Daniel U. A. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ugochukwu Daniel Anucha (talkcontribs)

@Ugochukwu Daniel Anucha: Acknowledging the individuals doesn't really help. If the lectures are not available for public review, they can't be used as citations. They don't need to be available to me, specifically, but they must be available to someone, even if it means that a person from Nigeria would have to go to a particular library to access the archives. But if you are simply quoting from your memory of the lectures, or your own private, unpublished notes, this is not a source that can be verified. Citation Query[edit]

Hello, The lectures I have cited are not personal or classroom lectures. They were public lectures which citations complied with the APA (American Psychological Association) Style for public lectures. The lectures may not have been made available online, but the details are enough for anyone to access them anytime. For instance the name of the guest lecturer, the lecture title, the event, the association who organized the lecture as well as the venue alongside date, are captured in the citations. Are there further details required for compliance with the aforementioned citation style, which are not stated in my citations? I await your advice on these please. Regards. Daniel U. A. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ugochukwu Daniel Anucha (talkcontribs)

How would I access them. Where would I go to access these lectures? To what publication? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:44, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
