Referencing in Controversy section[edit]

Twelve references on that one sentence is excessive. Convert one or two into external links and delete a couple please.--108.54.164.14 (talk) 17:37, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

References are now spread around so it isn't so much as an eyesore. I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:00, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV nomination: January 1, 2014[edit]

At many points during this article, the author clearly displays their biased point of view on the subject matter. When words such as "handpicked" are used to refer to an endorsement by an elected official, it provides a strongly negative connotation and conjures images of cronyism.

 Done Handpicked replaced with endorsed.I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:05, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cumbo is referred to as "conservative," which is not backed up by the sourced articles, and her predecessor is referred to as "fiery" and "popular," which are also not backed up by the sourced articles.

 Done weasel words removed. I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:05, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Very little personal history is provided for the subject, and indeed, the entire article is dedicated to controversies. The controversies section is accusatory in nature and uses language that is critical of the subject. While the remarks made by the subject on the topic of "knockout attacks" and on Jewish stereotypes are clearly offensive and objectionable, the author definitely uses more sources than is necessary for the remarks and the response by the community.

Done new sentence in section enabled refs to be moved to appropriate location. It's less of an eyesore now. I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:05, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tqycolumbia (talk) 03:56, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the content of this article is in a section titled "Controversies". That alone raises the POV flag on an article. We need to rewrite the whole thing. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:43, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done I've moved some of the sections content to a "politics" section, as it relates to politics and is not essentially controversial.I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:05, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've made several edits to increase the NPOV in this article. I've also reduced the size of the controversy section. I intend to add some more content to balance the article. I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 00:09, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Update: Section on personal life added. I have removed what I thought was POV wording and replaced with NPOV wording. Article seems balanced, tag will be removed.
Feel free to search and add additional content to the article. I.am.a.qwerty (talk) 21:56, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable sourcing[edit]

I took out the sourcing on the $4 million donation to Coalition of Theatres of Color because it linked to a letter Cumbo herself wrote. Removed the one for Soul of Brooklyn as well as Downtown Brooklyn Partnership seems innocuous. Please replace the former or that sentence will be taken out.--A21sauce (talk) 23:34, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editor[edit]

Hi, all. JesseRafe reverted referenced material about Crystal Hudson three times within 24 hours. Doesn't s/he qualify for a block?--173.68.77.253 (talk) 15:52, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
