First state legislator...[edit]

Besides the fact that she wasn't elected, so that the "would have become" statement has no meaning anyway... wasn't the first transgender state legislator Althea Garrison, in office between 1993 and 1995? She wasn't elected with the facts of her birth gender publicly known, but came out shortly after her election and held office while being openly transgender, according to the linked article. In that case, the sources (Huffington and mynews4) are supporting inaccurate claims. Please verify, thanks --Enyavar (talk) 19:15, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Thanks for pointing that out. I've checked the sources in Althea Garrison and agree that they are more reliable than those in this article so the claim should be removed. SmartSE (talk) 20:15, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
