Background to the name[edit]

I'm guessing that the name comes from the name of the town in Carl Barks' story The Ghost Sheriff of Last Gasp (first published May 1955 [1]), can anyone confirm and/or source this idea?

I notice that they've republished a lot of Barks' work, and to any Barks fan the name is instantly recognisable. Andrewa (talk) 03:33, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Telecommunications[edit]

Last Gasp is also a telecommunications signal (or message) used in power distribution networks run by public utilities, for example a feature implemented in smart meters. The Last Gasp signal is similar to Dying gasp. I suggest that there is some disambiguation of this term/wiki article, and a separate wiki article for such a Last Gasp signal. 81.128.174.58 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:26, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
