Pulsed laser thermal analysis

WANT TO ADD TO THE ARTICLE I would like to add a section between equipment and references that discusses some basics about pulsed laser thermal analysis. My proposed article is here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lwcheung/sandbox?action=edit. It seems like a good start. Still some work to do: some sentences seem to be missing endings and you seem to be missing a description of how to calculate the fluid flow velocities. The text needs links to other articles. The first time you use a phrase that might not be familiar to the reader, like Finite Elemental Modeling, you should wikilink it to the article on that topic.

The statement "lasers can operate in one of two modes: conduction and keyhole" is misleading—these are not really modes of the laser itself, but different modes of the welding process; the interaction of the laser with the material. --Srleffler (talk) 04:33, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Regarding the "mode" of welding comment, very good advice Srleffler. I will make that clarification in my article. Mode should be really be left for description of the energy density within the beam. Lwcheung (talk) 06:44, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Wattage for welding paragraph needed.

That's not really in our scope. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a how-to guide. In any event, the amount of power you need to weld steel depends a lot on exactly what you are doing: the size and shape of the parts, the geometry of the assembly, how strong the weld needs to be, etc.--Srleffler (talk) 03:45, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
