Proposed merge with J.M. Meulenhoff[edit]

Many Belgian and Dutch publishers consolidated. Having short articles that are not well updated, I believe we should follow suit. gidonb (talk) 15:53, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Drmies, User:Targaryen and User:Valdymont! As main contributors to the J.M. Meulenhoff article, I would like to invite you to examine the current state of J.M. Meulenhoff and Lannoo, as well as this page, including the org chart, and share if you can support the merge proposal. gidonb (talk) 05:03, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
gidonb, thanks for the note. I totally disagree but unfortunately I can't make a very strong argument given the poor state of our article--and the Dutch article isn't any better. I do NOT believe that it should be merged simply because Lannoo now owns it; I wish I had the time, and more sources like this one, to make that argument stick. @Drmies: Then how about the following compromise. I can change the J.M. Meulenhoff article into the biography of Johannes Marius Meulenhoff that never becomes outdated, while moving the main discussion of the business to Lannoo. It's a work-in-progress that has started. Next I will expand the article on Johannes Marius Meulenhoff somewhat and shorten the long section on the 2001 walkout in the Lannoo article. gidonb (talk) 04:33, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
