Requested name change to Hidden Sand Village[edit]

Shouldn't the villages "Sunagakure", "Otogakure", "Konohagakure", etc. be titled to simply Hidden Sand Village, Hidden Sound Village, Hidden Leaf Village, etc.? This is because WP:Uses English naming conventions isn't it, even if it's romanized or hepburnized from the manga? Power level (Dragon Ball) 19:49, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I get where you're comming from. However, it is prefered to use the original Japanese names, just as they are in the manga. 172.194.101.73

puppet? what?[edit]

what jutsu did sasori use to turn the the third kazekage into a puppet? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kai hyuuga (talkcontribs) 01:38, 17 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Sasori has developed the ability, through his vast knowledge of puppetry, to create puppets out of living people (who are subsequently killed). These puppets are then able to use all their former abilities to some degree (Bloodline limits as well). Sasori wanted to be able to utilise the third Kazekage's 'Iron Sand' trait, so he killed him and turned him into a puppet, much like he's done to a lot of other people and wanted to do to Sakura and Chiyo (to make use of their medical abilites and Sakura's strength). So no special jutsu, just organ removal, body preservation, and attaching chakra strings. Black Sharingan 08:15, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was called Hitokugutsu for humans, and Ikimonokugutsu for animals.Yxgtree 00:08, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's that simple. He has to do it while the body is still alive, which is almost certainly the reason why he fights with a poison that doesn't kill for 3 days. There's a whole forbidden jutsu involved that has nothing to do with puppets. Being a puppeteer won't teach you to live as a heart in a box, and it won't teach you how to retain the chakra of puppets made of corpses. 69.177.144.165 08:54, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Baki[edit]

He's in part 2 as well. He is in the meeting scene with Gaara and Yura discussing the Akatsuki threat as well as speaking to Kankuro during Gaara's fight against Deidara. I just thought that his information should be updated.

There are alot of spelling and grammar mistakes. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.224.22.38 (talk) 15:45, August 20, 2007 (UTC)

third kazekage's name[edit]

didn't it say in the manga that the third kazekages name was sandaime, correct me if i'm mistaken, but if thats his name shouldn't it say that insted of just the third kazekage. like i said correct me if i'm wrong Allen Walker 14:50 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Sandaime just means "Third". --Pentasyllabic 19:52, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gennin and Jounin[edit]

i think gennin and jouinin should be mereged with the charters becuase at one point they wrere genin rite? from fozster —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.145.91.193 (talk) 04:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Chiyo Main Artcile[edit]

Chiyo should have her own article. She plays just as importnat a role in the Rescue Gaara arc as Sasori, Deidara, and Gaara did, and also has enough to put into an article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (talkcontribs) 19:30, 6 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Deidara doesn't have an article. Gaara is a major character. Sasori has an article since it's the current practice to make articles for deceased/incapacitated Akatsuki members until they organization is destroyed, or that storyline is adequately concluded, from which we can determine something concrete to be done. Chiyo is fine as is, unless you have a more convincing reason other than subjective "importance" to provide. Sephiroth BCR 01:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, A)According to the Wikipedia:Notability (fiction), she has enough information to put into an article., B)Tenten, Zabuza and Haku, Shino and Hinata, and other characters that have done as much as, or even less than, Chiyo has, although I did see one for Chiyo that was deleted quickly., C)Her role in the series is greater than that of several characters (Tenten)., D)According to Wikipedia's policy on Naruto characters, she has to have extensive personality, abilities, and other (history, death, etc.) for an article, and she has enough for all three categories. Keep in mind this is also why Itachi got an article, because we weren't doing large plot details anymore., and finally E)Two characters would be dead and another alive without her, which in Naruto terms is actually major.Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (UTC)
She had an article. It was predominately plot, and couldn't be anything else. Unless she rises from the dead, she won't be getting an article. ~SnapperTo 00:17, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gaara's Uncle[edit]

This article states that a medic-nin named Yashamaru is Gaara's uncle. In the show, if I remember correctly, Gaara referred to him as "Orochimaru." Is Yashamaru or Orochimaru Gaara's uncle? Since Orochimaru takes over bodies, is it possible that Gaara was reffering to a taken-over Yashamaru? Yashamaru's voice is clearly different from Orochimaru's low-tone hiss-like voice. What I'm going at is that Gaara's uncle looks like Yashamaru. He has a different voice and a different personality than Ororhcimaru, yet Gaara calls him "Orochimaru."

You heard wrong. Gaara clearly states his uncle's name to be Yashamaru. I guess the similarities of the name must have made you hear it wrong. --GhostStalker(Got a present for ya! | Mission Log) 18:51, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kankuro[edit]

Kankuro should have his own page.Ultimaterasengan 14:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kankuro & Temari pages[edit]

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE KANKURO & TEMARI PAGES!!!!!!!!?????!?!?!!?!!!!Tobi is a good boy 01:58, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently they took them off. The reason I do not know, I guess because they weren't important characters. Yxgtree 15:01, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kankuro[edit]

I think that merging Kankuro's page should be done AFTER the series is over. Who knows, Kankuro might get his own arc (may explain how he got his genin status since it was not stated when he got it). Otherwise, we would need to switch back and forth to his own pages whether he'll be a critical character of the series.

Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. We're not here to speculate on what might happen. As of now, they better belong merged. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 17:14, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question about Baki...[edit]

In the guidebook, it doesn't says that Baki is Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro's sensei. It says that his job is to keep an eye on Gaara and to intervene if things start getting out of hand, that's why he's around Gaara and his team a lot. So I think it should be changed, becuse officially, Gaara's team doesn't have a Jounin leader. Hamstergirl591 22:55, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Sandaime[edit]

We should add a picture of him as Sasori's puppet. Akatasukileader2007 18:16, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sasori's Parents[edit]

It is both shown and stated that the puppets of Sasori's parents were not Human Puppets, but just ones made to look like them. Chiyo said this outright, and it was shown in the flashback of Sasori's childhood that they were created years after their deaths while he was an infant. I have changed accordingly.

It was ambiguous in the manga, but cleared up recently in the anime. Thanks for the edit. –Gunslinger47 06:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiruko[edit]

"According to Chiyo, he was once a great shinobi of the Sand Village. However, once he died, he became one of Sasori's first human puppets and overall, Sasori's 18th puppet and one of his favorite puppets." I dont remember Chiyo saying that it was Sasori's 18th puppet. Is it true? -ScotchMB 01:30, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it's true, Hiruko was a human puppet and he was number 18.Jacce 07:44, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for clearing it up. Sorry for the inconvenience. -ScotchMB 15:54, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's not in the manga. It doesn't even make sense. Hiruko is a normal mechanical puppet. What kind of a person has a scorpion's tail, a compartment for someone to control it from, and walks on all fours? It doesn't even have any jutsus, just pure traps. It's not a human puppet. 69.177.144.165 08:49, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The third kazekage is a human puppet, and he can has all those traps in him. Sasori just put the tail and stuff in Hiruko after he was dead. Aburame66745 03:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image removal[edit]

Fair use images have repeatedly been removed from this article for violating our policies on the use of fair use images found at Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #3(a) and #8, and Foundation:Resolution:Licensing policy. Removals of this type have been occurring all across the project. A sample of such efforts may be found at User:Durin/Fair_Use_Overuse#Complete. This type of removal has been debated many times in the past, with the result that the images have been removed and ultimately remained removed. Please see User:Durin/Fair_use_overuse_explanation#Prior_debates for some example debates.

If you still feel motivated to dispute our policy and wish to engage in discussion with specific regards to the use of such images on this and closely related articles, please centralize discussion at Talk:List of Akatsuki members. --Durin 12:55, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
