Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedy deleted as a foreign language article that exists on another Wikimedia project, because I am translating it right now... --Scoopfinder (talk) 17:52, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference, it's helpful to start with a userspace draft and then move the translated article into the main space when it's complete. —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:54, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Largoplazo: Well, explaining instead of putting a speedy delete would have been way more efficient... and also, fr:WP:MORDRE exists here too for what I saw... --Scoopfinder (talk) 18:18, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oui...mais j'ai pas l'impression que tu sois un newbie....différente wikipédia ici, différent moeurs.... Cheers and happy editing. Lectonar (talk) 18:41, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Eh? We do have WP:BITE here. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:45, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Lectonar, it is not because I am used to frwiki and Commons that I am not a newbie here. As we all know, each language version and project has its own rules and it is always hard for newcomers (even used to another project) to understand all of the policies at the beginning. Anyway, my point was that I would be very grateful to be informed about my mistake, but I would rather accept a helpful comment/hand than a quick blame. --Scoopfinder (talk) 10:42, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If A2 was inherently considered biting, then it wouldn't exist. Most of the time, people paste articles here from other languages and do nothing with them, not realizing that this Wikipedia is only for articles in English. Therefore, what's way more efficient, since you've offered efficiency as a criterion, is not to personally try to elicit a translation that the person posting the article wasn't planning to provide.
Moving from the general to the specific: In this case, before deletion was requested, you'd already translated the first sentence. That there was already a viable English stub. Therefore, A2 deletion was no longer applicable. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:44, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article should be generalized to L'Été[edit]

L'Été sans bras is one version of this sculpture that was a part of Maillol's creative process. L'Été sans bras should be a section in a more generalized article on Maillol's Summer. There is also a version that is a torso. Also, there are more casts of L'Été sans bras than the one in Perpignan. -- Rrwagner59 (talk) 17:22, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
