Too many pics[edit]

I usually am on the "loose" side ;), but as I see now this article has loads of irrelevant pics. The way I see, it needs the box art, a gameplay screenshot, and c'est fini. -- 201.9.123.17 (talk) 04:11, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have been working hard to get this article promoted to Start-class :<. If I have to put in a lot of information and give citations to obscure web sites that may not be fully in English, it will be worth it. People who want to learn about this fine game should get the full Kyle Petty's No Fear Racing experience. GVnayR (talk) 19:52, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extraneous info[edit]

Maybe I'm just getting this impression as someone who already knows a good deal about NASCAR, but it seems to me that if you wanted to know NASCAR rules, what the official fuel of NASCAR was in 1994, and so forth, you wouldn't come to the article about a specific SNES game loosely based on NASCAR. I can see where the comparisons to real life help to illustrate that this is an arcade racer rather than a simulation, but I think it's a bit much. This page should focus more on the game itself, I think, but tht's one man's opinion.

Also, the distinction between "qualifying on speed" and "qualifying on time" is meaningless. The "speed" given in real-life qualifying results is average speed, i.e. the time divided by the distance, not top speed, so it's just another way of saying the same thing. And then there's the discourse on "Turbo Boosters." The game refers to "nitro" which is more closely related to the way the concept is implemented in a game. A turbocharger doesn't work in this manner at all, not that it would be legal in NASCAR anyway. At any rate, even using the accurate term, it would still suffice to say "nitrous oxide is not allowed in NASCAR-sanctioned races" rather than describing the penalties that would be assessed each member of the team if it were used.

I was trying to load the article up with as much detailed information as possible in order to get it promoted to Start-class. If you don't like it, you can get rid of the extra details and make it focus more on the game than the historical details about its realism. GVnayR (talk) 03:46, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of a lot of citations[edit]

I have removed a lot of citations because they are unreliable. Check Video Games sources for more information as well as reliable sources guideline. However, even with those removed, this article is still a start-class article. Good work!じんない 03:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed some pictures[edit]

I removed a couple of the pictures. The rest can be converted to PNG by the other Wikipedians. GVnayR (talk) 17:24, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
