Graubünden[edit]

The term "subdistrict" for the German word "Kreis" (rm: "circul" and it: "circolo") in Graubünden ist not correct. It would better be "circle": The Kreise in Graubünden ar not subdistricts of the districts of Graubünden. Effectively only the Kreise has a polticial function and owns administrative authorities. The districts of Graubünden are only tribunal districts without any political and administrative function. There ist now going on a project for a complete restructurin of the administrative order of the canton, but the realisation of this project will take several years.
