Surely the character from The Day The Earth Stood Still is the primary and single best-known meaning of Klaatu. The other instances of this name are all references to the original, and should be disambiguated on Klaatu (disambiguation). -Jason A. Quest (talk) 23:54, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Over 4 years ago, JasonAQuest suggested that the fictional humanoid alien in the 1951 science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still and its 2008 remake ought to be the primary topic for Klaatu. The talk page did not produce a valid answer so I have put the question to a wider audience. Please contend or agree so as a consensus can be known. Yes but meh - I agree that character is the primary meaning, and the other articles even mention where they are derived from it. But I think the change would be to make this article title a redirect, then create a disambiguation page and move the contents of this one there. Seems OK but barely or not really worth doing. Oppose. Just going by pageviews, the band and the movie character are neck-and-neck. The article about the character is linked to by 22 articles, while the band is linked to by 62. I would say there's no primary topic here.— Gorthian (talk) 23:47, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
