Village of Kinsman?[edit]

I'm finding vague references to this community having been a "village" at one time. Was this actually once a chartered municipality? It seems entirely reasonable: Kinsman still retains a village-like atmosphere, and several of Kinsman Township's historic buildings are in a village-like street layout in this now-unincorporated community.
