merger questions[edit]

This was originally merged for being an article about a song, with the suggestion that an episode article would be fine. However, the episode title is also "Kidney Now!", so I undid the redirect. I'll work on this in a bit, so don't remerge it right away. Darquis (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that this should be merged, as this is really an episode and not a song, and so deserves its own episode article. I will work on this article next, as it is one of my favs! - Nyxaus 11:49, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Update - Working on the article here, please contribute if you can! - Nyxaus 10:54, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My draft has been worked into the current article. My original draft can still be found here for reference. - Nyxaus 14:59, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'll be the reviewer for this article. I'm not particularly familiar with 30 Rock as a whole, though I've seen it quite a few times, and this seems to be a very interesting episode.

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance:
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
Why are some of the references, like ref 4 and ref 5 linked and not linked? Especially if one is above another? Refs 13 and 31 are the same way. Also, some are double linked. Please be consistent.
I ended up fixing this. I've been told that if it's linked once, then overlinkage should be avoided. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
  • Not much to fix, I'll place the article on hold for my concerns to be addressed. Also, the plot section seems a little bit short for an article of this length, if it can be expanded at all in the near future, please do so. Thanks. Gage (talk) 18:40, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hope I addressed the ref. issues, if not I'll continue on it. I "expanded" the plot a bit, really that's the only main points from the episode. Thanks for the review. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thank you for addressing my concerns. I will now pass the article. Gage (talk) 19:28, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
        • Thank you for taking the time to review the article, it is most appreciated. :) --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:35, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure how this article passed muster on "prose quality". A number of sentences are awkward, almost to the point of incomprehensibility. For example:

The concept of doing a charity concert was based on Robert Carlock and Tina Fey, the latter who is the series creator, agreeing to include a song performance in "Kidney Now!", but that it be an anthem like the 1985 charity song, "We Are the World", as the cause was that the Milton Greene character is in need of a kidney donor.

According to Fey, none of the music artists got paid as they all did the charity concert for free. The reason for this was due to a joke in the song in which Sheryl Crow was the only individual to get paid, as the rest did it for free.

In discussion of the development of "Kidney Now!", Richmond said that Carlock and Fey "were trying to figure out a way to heightened Jack's dad in getting a kidney and how they're going to deal with that", and that the two came to the decision to "take advantage of the singing", as they have done so in the past with different 30 Rock episodes, in which the show's characters have sung songs.

I don't feel that this article is up to GA standards yet. Dindon (talk) 05:15, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
