Query[edit]

Can anyone please tell me what "The K9 is a derivative of the BH-L (VI) platform shared with the Hyundai Equus and natived from Genesis is the first rear-wheel drive sedan from Kia." means? It looks like English, but it doesn't mean much to me. Peridon (talk) 22:22, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The car is full-size, not midsize[edit]

Just like the Genesis G80 and G90, the K900 is full-sized. Interior space, curb weight, and exterior dimensions all indicate full-size. The Kia Cadenza is smaller, so the K900 cannot be considered "mid-sized." We also can't trust manufacturers just because of their words. Genesis calls its G80 and G90 midsize, but it's not true (the G80 is larger than the short-wheelbase Jaguar XJ and the Lincoln Continental, confirmed by the EPA). Also, Nissan calls the Maxima full-size, but it's false (it is actually smaller than the Ford Fusion). The K900 and G80 match more closely to standard-wheelbase full-size sedans than to midsize sedans. The G90 is essentially a longer wheelbase version of the G80, just like the XJL is the longer wheelbase version of the XJ. 137.25.35.93 (talk) 17:53, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see no reason to disagree. The links cited only refer to some of the K9's competitors as mid-sized, which means nothing. EPA and Autoweek references are lots better than Top Gear Philippines and Yonhap News (which spelled both "Lambda" and "Continental Pro Contact" wrong in its article), especially when neither of those sources ever refer to the K9 as mid-sized. This entire argument is very strange to me. Another reference already used elsewhere on the page refers to the K900's competitors as the BMW 7-series and MB S-class, which is fair in terms of size but not true in terms of price or luxury perception.
