Two rivers[edit]

Two rivers are named Khabur or Habur. On begins in southeastern Turkey and empties into the Eurphrates, the other, smaller one originates also in Turkey, flows through Iraq and empties into the Tigris. So the redirects to this page from Silopi and Zakho are wrong, because the river described here is the Western Khabur, not the one that passes Silopi and flows through Zakho. --Erdal Ronahi 10:31, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tributaries[edit]

I think Wadi Khanzir and Wadi Khnezir refer to the same tributary. I am basing this on the fact that both seem to be different spellings to the same word (Khanzir; Pig). Do correct me if I'm wrong. Yazan (talk) 20:36, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know they are different. From west to east there's the Khabur, the Avedji, the Khanzir, the Jaghjagh, the Jarrah and then the Khnezir. -- Zoeperkoe (talk) 20:41, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chebar[edit]

Hi

Is there a reason why Chebar is not mentioned in the body of the article?

Most bibles seem to use Chebar. Chaosdruid (talk) 02:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there is a particular reason. Chebar is mentioned in the infobox together with other historical names for the river. Personally, I feel that the modern names for the river (Arabic, Turkish) are much more important than historical names, so I see no reason to include any historical name (whether it is in the bible or not) in the lead section. But feel free to add an etymology section with explanations of the different names for this river.--Zoeperkoe (talk) 18:21, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, if I knew the etymology I would :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 18:32, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ras al-Ayn[edit]

Amr, you do know the Khabur flows away from Ras al-Ayn, right? Konli17 (talk) 18:00, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Category:Khabur (Euphrates) is already a subcategory of the Category:Geography of Rojava. Thepharoah17 (talk) 19:00, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Long may it flow. Thanks, P17. Konli17 (talk) 19:25, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
