  • Support - We need to differentiate the pages. Both are ice hockey players. The best way to do so would be including their birth year in the page name as you have done. Meatsgains (talk) 03:07, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose -- if anything move Kevin Lavallée (ice hockey b. 1981)Kevin Lavallée and use hatnotes to distinguish between the two per WP:SMALLDETAILS. They are fine as primarytopics, despite the relatively minor pageviews. The details between caps and accents prevent these from conflicting to the degree requiring parenthetical disambiguation, per WP:PRECISE. Tiggerjay (talk) 04:19, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Tiggerjay: There actually are no caps and accents differences to distinguish between. "Kevin LaVallee" should actually be spelled "Kevin Lavallée" ; they both have the exact same first and last names.Joeykai (talk) 05:08, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Joeykai: Could you provide some sources, I see the aritlce itself is entirely unsourced using inline referees. Of the external links only one shows the accent, all the others have it without, so perhaps without is the commonname? I don't have time at the moment but would you consider providing some reliable sources to demonstrate they are both commonly known with or without the accent? Tiggerjay (talk) 23:18, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Tiggerjay: The nhl.com bio is a pretty reliable source to show the v is lowercase. The nhl.com bio does not have any accents, but nhl.com bios never show accents (see Marc-André Fleury's bio). The eliteprospects.com bio shows an accent.Joeykai (talk) 23:32, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Joeykai: with the differences so minor it is hard to really research this, but my cursory research (15 minutes or show) has illustrated to me a couple of things: (1) the accents are rarely used at all, especially for 1961 Kevin - so we should strive for commonname here; (2) 1981 Kevin rarely is cited as LaVallee, usually all lower case; whereas (3) 1961 Kevin appears to have mixed results, roughtly 50/50 between LaVallee and Lavallee; and (4) 1961 Kevin appears more notable than 1981 Kevin. As such, I think we should leave Kevin LaVallee as is. Possibly move 1981 Kevin to Kevin Lavallée and then use hatnotes. But with that said, all of this is based on cursory research compared with policy and precedent. Among them is WP:DIACRITICS in which accents are neither encourage or discouraged, but rather defers to common useage. I am not a sports person, so perhaps I am wrong about commonname beyond what I am finding in online research of the topic. Tiggerjay (talk) 00:59, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Tiggerjay: I think your research indicates that the extremely minor differences are unclear and, therefore, the two players would be easily confused so I still believe that, no matter what the exact names are, they should both be disambiguated by birth year. Also, I think that there is no primary topic between the two; the difference in page views is relatively small.Joeykai (talk) 01:58, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as proposed please show that the 1961 player spells his name the proposed way; he was born in Sudbury ON, not Quebec or New Brunswick. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:45, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose move as proposed. I'd support moving the 1981-born player to Kevin Lavallée (accent; lowercase "v") and distinguishing them via hat notes.--Cúchullain t/c 20:04, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per those above. I don't see any comprehensive evidence that we should rename 1961 Kevin from "LaVallee" to "Lavallée". No opinion on whether 1981 Kevin should have the parentheticals removed per SMALLDETAILS, maybe that should be a separate discussion once this one has been closed.
