AustralianFootball.com has 28 September 1998, and the story at MelbourneFC.com about Smith's AFLW Rising Star nomination has her as 18 in March 2017, which aligns with the 1998 birth date. However, Melbourne Football Club has Smith's birth date as 28 September 1997 twice, including her player bio and the player list. I think the latter is more likely to be correct. We currently have one date in the lead and the other date in the info box, but I would like consensus before changing this. Jack N. Stock (talk) 06:43, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No objections - I only reverted the change because it was an anonymous editor changing a date without a source. The Drover's Wife (talk) 08:04, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You might very well change that; I couldn't possibly edit. Francis Urquhart (talk) 08:39, 13 January 2018 (UTC) This was me, by the way. Jack N. Stock (talk) 17:10, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've just had a look at the AFL season record which was distributed at the start of last year's AFL Women's season, she's listed as 1998 in there. I'd say that the MFC has made an error as the two 1997 sources are by the same publisher (MFC), whereas three different sources has her as 1998, Rising Star nom, the AFL and Australian Football. I'd say 1998 is correct. Flickerd (talk) 10:36, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it to 1998 in the article for consistency. The Drover's Wife usually has good instincts, but this might be the occasion when the single-edit anonymous editor is correct per WP:AGF. Jack N. Stock (talk) 17:10, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
