Avoid use of unexplained scare quotes and other means of implying criticism or making indirect criticism when you are writing in edit comments and talk pages. Out of respect for other editors, criticism of another's edit, of phrasing and choice of terminology, or any criticism of or critical response to talk page commentary and participation ought to be made clearly, directly, and explicitly in a manner that may be easily understood and replied to.

Keep in mind that sarcasm cannot easily be conveyed in writing and may be misinterpreted. Hence insinuation, double entendre, and excessive or unwarranted subtlety of writing should be avoided when expressing criticism—particularly negative criticism. This point of etiquette also helps the editor receiving criticism to correctly understand you and respond to your concerns, and may particularly aid editors for whom English is a second language or who experience difficulty understanding written English. {{adminhelp}}

Please follow the advice already given (take this to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution).

This is basically an argument over content, and so no administrator intervention is required. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 18:27, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see a request, without one I am sadly unable to help you. As Phatomsteve said if this is a content dispute please see the link he had regarding dispute resolution. James (T C) 14:23, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

VANDALISM/SLANDER[edit]

This page is being obsessed over.Also there have been slanderous allegations and defamatory comments. Please can wikipedia advise action on the ISP's? {{adminhelp}} Antonio82 (talk) 16:52, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Antonio, the changes to this article do require reliable sources. I see that you are using http://www.pure-management.co.uk/actors/actors_detail.asp?ActorID=36&flashPage=2 as a reference for Lucas's writing credits, but that appears to be a link to his CV, which I don't think qualifies as a reliable source. If there is a reliable third-party source for these credits -- i.e. something that didn't come from Lucas himself -- that would help a lot. Tim Pierce (talk) 17:04, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also: please do not keep using {{adminhelp}} this way. An admin has already told you this isn't the appropriate way to solve a content dispute, and has directed you to the right place. If you keep using {{adminhelp}} inappropriately, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia temporarily. Please let me try to help first! Tim Pierce (talk) 17:10, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Antonio82: please do not continue an edit war on this page. It is reasonable to request reliable sources for Karl Lucas's writing credits, which the article does not presently have. If you still do not understand why the existing sources aren't sufficient, please ask, and I will be happy to explain further. Tim Pierce (talk) 18:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'KARL LUCAS'[edit]

This page is being obsessed over for some reason.Karl Lucas has been credited on 'SPOTLIGHT' for all his TV and FILM apperances.People in the media spotlight will always have people jealous or obsessed by their work.Its rather sad and weird that his page is being stalked for no apparent reason.But thats the beauty of WIKIPEDIA and democracy.Please keep on tampering with this page,im sure the popular media will be interested that this minor-minor celebrity (lucas) is being obsessed over for no apparent reason.Strange but true!

wikipedia says on citations:"Broadly, a citation is a reference to a published or unpublished source (not always the original source)"

It would be counter-productive for Lucas to lie about his Video Appearances on his own SPOTLIGHT page.

Leave his page alone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Antonio82 (talkcontribs) 18:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's policy on verifiability is that "anything challenged or likely to be challenged, including all quotations, be attributed to a reliable source in the form of an inline citation, and that the source directly support the material in question." A "reliable source" means a "third-party (independent), published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" (WP:SOURCES). When there is disagreement or skepticism about the content of an article, it is important to have an independent source -- that is, something besides the subject of the article itself -- and one with a reputation for accuracy. An actor's CV cannot be used as the source for the work he or she has done; too many people are prone to exaggerating or outright lying on their CVs for that to be considered a reliable source. I am sorry, but you will have to find a different source. Tim Pierce (talk) 19:14, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

adminhelp request from 188.221.230.19[edit]

{{adminhelp}} Can you please block the persons IP that is asking for citations wrongly or rightly. Karl has phoned the police twice now claiming it's me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.221.230.19 (talkcontribs) 13:43, June 10, 2010

The requests for citations are not against Wikipedia policy. I am sorry if you are having trouble with this issue outside of Wikipedia but it does not seem as though anything has happened to warrant IP blocking. Tim Pierce (talk) 18:24, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
