Holy God, he held his own against pre-Crisis Superboy? When was that? -Toptomcat 00:17, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Twice, in his legion tryout he challenged superboy to a bout. Superboy clearly underestimated him and tried to just gently take him out, more worried about accidentally injuring Karate Kid or even killing him, but Karate Kid repeatedly surprised him with punches that while they didn't damage superboy, didn't hurt his hand doing it either. He managed to somehow throw him into a wall once as he came in, then managed to throw superboy's cape over his head but was tiring out at that point, and once superboy took him more seriously it was clear Karate Kid was outclassed. Still, as Superboy put it, "anyone who can give me that kind of a tussle belongs in the Legion."

Later, at the end of the Earthwar, Mordru mind-controlled superboy temporarily and Karate Kid somehow held him in a pin until it passed. You could argue (as it seems a comic book law) that mind-controlled people fight sluggishly, but still pretty impressive.

I added a note about some of stunts he tried, including trying a flying kick at Mordru (the second-to-last issue of Earthwar), Omega (a being consumed of pure hate that knocked out Mon-El with a single punch) in S&LSH #251 and even Darkseid at the height of his powers in the Great Darkness Saga. Each of these beings was arguably more powerful than the entire Legion by themselves.

He once destroyed a Force Field with a punch.

And in his greatest hurrah, after believing a prediction that he was fated to die that day, he tried to go out in a blaze of glory by attacking the entire Fatal Five (again, a group equal of the entire legion) by himself. He failed in his goal, as he somehow defeated them. -- Aapold 12:57, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lightning Storm[edit]

Val is apparently going to be one of the important characters in this saga, so I edited the new information from JLA #8. Any further revision would be welcome, cos I'm new at this. TehMCP 15:35, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:LSH2.05-KarateKid.jpg[edit]

Image:LSH2.05-KarateKid.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Myg[edit]

There isn't much information on him in this article, but if he became another Karate Kid, shouldn't the article be about them both, and not just Val?151.166.15.115 (talk) 16:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't much information about Myg period. He wasn't Karate Kid for very long, and didn't do much as Karate Kid. Val is definitely the main character in that role. Nutiketaiel (talk) 17:07, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Myg has his own entry now but he still needs an image up.
