Is this actor the same as Kanu Banerji in "Baghavan Sri Ramakrishna"?

There is a video of an old Bengali movie entitled "Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna" that has recently been posted to YouTube HERE. The movie is long (2h 20min) and quite extraordinary. It seems quite old - perhaps 1930s or 1940s? - but I have not been able to find a date on the internet. At 00:09 it states that it stars "Kanu Banerji" (spelled ...ji rather than ...jee). Can this be the same actor as the Kanu Banerjee discussed on this page? He doesn't quite look the same, at least the images I've seen so far of the actor who is the topic of this page. If not, does anyone have enough information that we could create a page for this other actor who starred in this Ramakrishna movie?

Comment: I have heard rumors that this movie may have been based on a theatrical production, so that the actors may have been primarily theater actors. But I can cite no source. Any help would be appreciated. -- Presearch (talk) 08:01, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Indeed! Using a variant name spelling, I located a recent profile of him in The Telegraph. I used it to source the addition of the Ramakrishna (1955) movie, but there may be other info that could be added to this page based on the article: Soumitra Das and Dalia Mukherje (2012, Aug. 5). Checking film list vs IMDB

I notice that IMDB's Kanu Banerjee page lists several films he's done that are not on the current list in this WP article. Some of IMDB's listings appear to be in error. I am creating a list here so that we can keep track of any that appear to be correct -- or prevent editors in the future from mistakenly copying them in. For now, I have focused only on his later period (1956 or later). Beyond what is on the list, IMBD includes:

• Agnibhramar (1973) - and this appears to be an IMDB mistake, perhaps due to confusion between Kanu Banerjee and Kali Banerjee. Kanu's involvement is NOT corroborated at Gomolo.com
• Mahashweta (1967) ?
• Pankatilak (1961) - also w/Kali Banerjee on IMDB - but this IS CORROBORATED by Gomolo - could IMDB & Gomolo both be in error? How would we know?
• Marmabani (1958) ?
• Punar Milan (1957) ?
• Tonsil (1956) (also w/Kali Banerjee on IMDB, and NOT corroborated by Gomolo, which instead lists Bhanu Bandyopadhyay)

I suppose if anyone has an IMDB acct they could consider correcting problems on IMDB... -- Presearch (talk) 22:38, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

PS Another task would be to look at the films on Gomolo that are not yet on this page, and see which can be confirmed to belong. It appears that this actor appeared in many fewer films per year on average after 1956 - does anyone know why? -- Presearch (talk) 23:00, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

citwf website seems to have better data of this period on Indian films, as compared to IMDB. check this link. I am not sure about notability of this site, however it has better data in this context.--GDibyendu (talk) 05:13, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
