Sourcing[edit]

I am very concerned about the sourcing in this article. I've tried using proxies to see the Google Books-hosted stuff and even those that give me access to India and the US at best only show the snippet-type views that I see here in the UK. Snippet views are not acceptable because they lack context.

In addition, I have now at least twice removed the S. N. Sadasivan source. Sadasivan was an amateur historian whose professional interests were in the sphere of water management and public administration. He has been found to be unreliable for history in articles such as Ezhava and Nair, so I don't think we should be using him here for a claim regarding caste.

I'll add a final point: notability is not satisfied by the presence of passing mentions. Sources need to discuss the article subject in depth if the article is to survive possible deletion. I note that a PROD has been removed but that alone will not prevent deletion - anyone could take the article to WP:AFD. - Sitush (talk) 13:08, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
