Ginsberg wrote the poem in a single 40-hour session while on a cocktail familiar to him of dexedrine (a psychostimulant amphetamine), LSD, and coffee.

Something's amiss in the description here, he wrote the poem in one forty-hour session which stretched all the way from 1957 to 1959? --Oolong 21:28, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

If it's the newer edition, it might not be the same. The original was about 4.5x4.5 inches and had a paper cover, as far as I know. My dad had a copy of that edition that I spilled coffee on a few years back, otherwise I'd check Coruscus 19:04, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

But all seriousness aside, there is another entry purportedly for the book which Kaddish is in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaddish_and_Other_Poems but that entry actually only addresses Kaddish, so it should be merged into this article and then deleted (unless the volume "Kaddish and Other Poems" deserves a separate entry).83.28.66.183 (talk) 14:00, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
