Duman is one of the most popular rock bands in Turkey. Moreover, from the band's members especially Kaan Tangöze is personally known. The reasons of his popularity is due to his solo album and his political attitude. He took a firm stand on Gezi Park Protests in Turkey occurred in May 2013. After that, he turned his solo musical path towards political events and his album includes several political songs. Recently, he gave a concert in front of the Republic Newspaper to protest the arrest of executives and writers in the newspaper.[reply]
