Mani was the Member of TSP (Travancore unit of Congress Socialist Party - TSP) when he tried to kill CP. He had the silent permission from his leaders N. Sreekandan Nair & Kumapalthu Shankupillai for doing this. Mani was sure that he will be killed and he has kept a note in his pocket saying 'K C S Mani - Travancore Socialist Party' - to identify his body. He was not a communist. All the leaders of TSP were with Congress till 1948. Some of them left KSP around 1948 and joined with RSP. There was Communist Party in Travancore at that time but Mani joined in RSP and was an assembly candidate of RSP from Kuttanad . He did not joined any communist pary.

In Malabar CSP was hijacked by the communist and even the PCC also was under contol of Communis till Gandhiji kicked them out and gave the control of the PCC to real Congress leaders(This was in 1939). This was not the case in Travancore - The TSP unit was under control of Congress leaders and please check the TSP Leaders list of that time. So in 1947 when tried to kill CP Mani was a part of Congress party. Please update the article and remove the 'communist' from the great leader.

Mani tried to kill CP to do revenge against the decision of CP not to join Indian union and to declare independent travancore. CP killed many raised word against his rule.

Communist party has made a movie named 'Rakthasakshikal Zindabad' and tried to make the great man to their party member and mislead people by converting this incident as a revenge to the punnapra vayalar. They want to show that they did something against the Travancore rulers - really they could not do anything against them.

EMS had critisised the act of Mani in Chintha Magzine.

Also note that the slogan 'CPye vettiya nattarkkee pettu nampoothiri pullane' during 'Vimochana Samaram' - If Mani was a communist, will people use a slogan like that ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simonchummar (talk • contribs) 09:56, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
