I've tried to remove specific references to the specific ranks at which this kata is taught by certain styles and schools. Instead I've referred to the ranks with intermediate and advanced.

I also think it would be helpful to have some history on this kata, as well as offering information on some of the alternate theories of its origins. I began to write some, but I decided against it so that I can wait until I have citations to some reputable sources.

The result was merge with Kanku sho and Kanku Dai. -- Scott Alter 05:58, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Both the Kusanku and Kanku kata series contain the same kata with the same history. The only difference being the name. Additionally, there is not enough content to separate the series into articles for each kata. Currently, the Kanku Dai and Kusanku (kata) articles are both lacking content, but will be cohesive together. --Scott Alter 06:09, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of line about animal representing kata[edit]

I think the line about the animal the kata represents should be removed, unless a suitable source can be found for it. As a karate practitioner, I am not aware of animals being assigned to any kata.

It's also not something I have seen in other articles about different kata.
