Gaṇarājya - clarification

"The word "Republic" in the languages of areas influenced by Islam are derived from the word Jumhūrīya an example is Hindi the word Gaṇarājya (गणराज्य) and the Urdu word Jumhūrīyat ( بھارت) both are languages of India."

गणराज्य - the correct transliteration is "Janrajya". Jan + Rajya = People + Rule. The words are derived from Sanskrit and have no relation to the Arabic work Jumhuriya except for sounding similar. Hence, I'm removing this reference to गणराज्य from the text of the article.

Turkish[edit]

Is the Turkish cumhuriyet also derived from this word? If so, it should be added to the article alongside the Urdu example given. Beorhtwulf (talk) 20:28, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
