Antiquarian or Antique dealer?[edit]

sources say that his mother was an antique dealer than an antiquarian

included as alternative source. Chienlit (talk) 17:16, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure that Antiquarian is just a bad translation of Antique dealer, though of course it is almost impossible to be an antique dealer without also being an antiquarian: Here's another source primarily describing her mother as an antique dealer: http://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/inside-hollande-s-love-triangle-1.1659391

I'm not entirely sure what "antiquarian" means. That's my problem, no doubt. But it looks, from the foregoing, like a word that may have different meanings for different people in different corners of The Anglosphere. If that's right, it's probably worth avoiding the word in a quasi-encyclopaedic context even though, clearly, it is a very fine word for general use. Need for the Who's who of the "Gauche caviar"[edit]

So Chienlit, you found a really nice BBC reference for supporting the fact that Julie Gayet belongs in fact to 'Gauche caviar'. Let's read it : "Some have said that Trierweiler, President Francois Hollande and his alleged new girlfriend Julie Gayet are all from the gauche caviar [...]". That is great journalism! No signature, no named sources... in fact, that is a just an anonymous blog hosted at BBC.

On my side, I can propose a more proper source concerning F.Hollande. You can find it via Google Books, in the book "Histoire de la gauche caviar", by L.Joffrin (2006), p.1952(!): "Même s'il habite près de Montparnasse et possède une maison à l'Île de Ré, on ne classera pas Lionel Jospin dans les rangs de la gauche caviar. [...] Pas plus que François Hollande, qui cultive le style simple de l'élu convivial et du responsable aimable et compétent. Quoique plutôt prospères, amis des intellos, familiers de la culture, Ségolène et François, on le sent d'instinct, sont de gauche mais ne sont pas vraiment "rive gauche"."

For your information, the following paragraphs describe four other men of the French socialist movement who, according to the author, belong to the 'gauche caviar' : D.Strauss-Kahn, Bernard Kouchner, Jack Lang and Laurent Fabius. --Lspiste (talk) 15:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actors Studio London[edit]

Links to the actresses studio in manhattan, though article claims it's in London. Whic is correct 90.152.2.38 (talk) 18:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

London, multiple references. Bad link is now fixed, but there is not yet an article about Actors Studio (London). Regards Chienlit (talk) 18:40, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's because there wasn't an Actors Studio in London when she was 17 (unless it was a 'summer school' or similar) ... Pincrete (talk) 23:22, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
