I can't say that I think that it is responsible to give links here to anyone with the first name Julie. The current list includes maybe ten links to people with that name, but there are undoubtedly zounds of other people with the first name Julie who deserve to be on this list. Therefore, I think it is inappropriate at best to include a list of people whose first name is/was Julie, because the list would be too too long.

My instincts tell me to delete the list of Julies, but I feel I should at least give people some time to respond... HammerHeadHuman 17:34, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm with you - I think the guideline is if they are often referred to as their first name. I don't think any of these women are. Maybe a list would be a good idea. (John User:Jwy talk) 17:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with your reasoning (both of you) about deleting the list of Julies. --Paul Erik 05:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Add a list of Julie's please! My name is Julie and there are lots of other Julie's that need to be recognized! please! ---Julie Raspler —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.129.83.106 (talkcontribs)

No offense to the Julie's of the universe like yourself, Wikipedia's purpose is not "recognition." In particular, this page is to help people find the information they are looking for when the enter just "Julie." If they are looking for Julie Raspler, the full name is what they would likely enter. Ya thats what I did for Julie Andrews, but I forgot her last name was Andrew's so I put Julie and got this. I understand Wikipedia isnt for recognition but there are other name pages, like Nora, which list Nora's. Why can't the Julie page be like that? It's not like, a HUGE concern of mine but why cant it be like that. It wouldn't hurt. ---Julie Raspler

:My issue has nothing to do with the relevance of such a list, I think the list itself is a fine idea but it does not belong on this page, it should be a separate page. In fact, after this comment is posted I will create a page call List of people with the first name Julie, and add a link on the Julie page. Also, the list of Julies that I deleted from the page has been moved there; the list is far from complete. - HammerHeadHuman (talk)(work) 02:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • This page has since been deleted. For those looking for a specific "Julie" I suggest following the link at the bottom of the article to Special:AllPages/Julie, this will display a list of all wikipedia articles that begin with the word "Julie" - HammerHeadHuman (talk)(work) 17:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool ----Julie Raspler —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.129.70.169 (talkcontribs) (Julie, you should add ~~~~ to your messages to create a signature like: (John User:Jwy talk) 15:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd thought of that, but my reading of WP:LIST lead me to think it not appropriate, but that may just be my interpretation. The "I-can't-remember-the-last-name" argument is a reasonable one, but I'm not sure we can take care of that without making the dab page useless - so the proposed list might be a good way.
