James H. Branch is perhaps Joseph III's uncle; James is listed as the brother of Joseph II in Mary Jones Polk Branch's genealogy cited in this Wikipedia article (Joseph Gerald Branch II); the source you cited lists James and Joseph separately so I think they must be two different people--FeanorStar7 (talk) 13:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
