Jon Hein is highly notable to Howard Stern fans

...and there are millions of those. This is hardly the most trivial article on Wikipedia and I doubt it was written by Hein. That "potential vanity" tag is silly. I just looked up "Jon Hein" on Google and got more than 15,000 hits. I'm removing the tag. Foday 07:28, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

...but perhaps the article should be merged into Jumping the shark. Unless Hein is notable for another reason? Was he on the Howard Stern show because of a reason other than that he coined that phrase? 207.171.180.101 (talk) 00:54, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
No, he's on the Howard Stern show AND he hosts his own show on Howard's Sirius channels, mid-day. After Howard leaves Sirius, Hein will certainly be hired by some radio station somewhere, if not re-signed by Sirius, as he's a genius on-air talent. There's no way, by any measure, that this article can be "non-notable". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.239.198.86 (talk) 06:57, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Nothing he does on the radio show has anything to do with jumptheshark. He first appeared as a guest to discuss TV shows but was later hired to host shows that have nothing to do with television. Yes, his career was started by jumptheshark but the same is true for any known entertainer. Something they do catches on and the rest of their career builds from that. Selling out to TV Guide

Anyone think that "Jump the shark" may have "jumped the shark" itself in selling out to TV guide? Time will tell....--Plane nutz 19:18, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

My answer? Hell yes. Thanks to Hein selling out, you can count on Gemstar issuing lawsuits for the unauthorized use of what had been until this point a widely used catchphrase. Expect a new, corpo look for the web site, too. --M.Neko 02:55, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Good prediction! The new corporate look for the website arrived yesterday. First impression? Be afraid, very afraid...--Plane nutz 20:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
You were right -- the site has been destroyed. It is now a celebrity gossip messageboard. My theory: The Big Four networks pressured TV Guide to get rid of JTS, since at the end of the day, JTS made them look bad in one way or another. --98.232.181.201 (talk) 05:15, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Wow. A huge article about someone who supposedly invented a term that very few people know about...There should be a top ten list of wikipedia embarassments. I nominate this one. 75.3.192.165 07:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

You think "jump the shark" is NOT a ubiquitous term? I disagree. MANY people know that phrase. W@ntonsoup (talk) 23:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Jumptheshark is now gone

www.jumptheshark.com has been raped and pillaged by Gemstar- all the old content is now gone. Fans made a new website in March 2009 www.bonethefish.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.63.162.118 (talk) 02:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

What is Gemstar? And how the hell do we get in touch with TV Guide to complain about the removal of JTS? --98.232.181.201 (talk) 05:15, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Rush

We can walk our roads together if our goals are the same...we can run alone and free if we pursue a different aim. Let the truth of love be lighted, let the love of truth shine clear, sensibility, armed with sense and liberty.
