Untitled[edit]

Johann Friedrich Lübbering was the first post master in Luebbering, Franklin County, Missouri. I believe, since he was the first of his kind and trade in that very hamlet/ town/ city, he should be mentioned, and the article should remain in the wiki.

more --- The US is a country of immigrants, isn't it ? Mostly, reasons are not known - in this case, we know that a series of famines forced the Luebbering family to emigrate, and settle at a place which was named after them. JFL fought for the union and the State of Mississippi. He left the army a 2nd lieutenant - he helped make the US big, he is what the US stands for, a self made man who fights for what he believes is right .... He should not get deleted, even though the article is a little too genealogical. I am hoping for more editors to complete it.

Marked for deletion, again.[edit]

The article was not deleted in 2009. It's purpose hasn't changed. I do not understand why it should be deleted now?. JFL was the first postmaster of the hamlet named after him. As such, he is a historic person, and relevant to the state of Missouri. Furthermore, the article is deemed to be within the scope of Wikipedia articles.

Nomination of Johann Friedrich Lübbering for deletion[edit]

Hey Gilliam,

Thanks you for alerting me. The article received an OK in 2009. It is deemed to be "[…] within the scope of WikiProject Biography, a collaborative effort to create, develop and organize Wikipedia's articles about people.". I do not quite understand why, 7 years into the life of this article, it is to be marked for deletion once more. I cannot locate the correspondence that I had with staff of a related historic society of Franklin County, Missouri as that happened a while back now = in 2009. That society, too, supported the article as being relevant in relation to Missouri's history. If the article was deemed to be "within the scope of, e.a." in 2009 - why would it need to be deleted now? Has it become less relevant? Has the content become less relevant for e.g. students who need to research their local heritage and choose to use Wikipedia to do so? I am very certain that the guidelines Wikipedia follows have not changed so dramatically that something relevant and "within the scope of, e.a." in 2009, is suddenly outside the scope of "WikiProject Biography" in 2016.
