Not his best picture, but it's a free license one... Image:Joe Flanigan - San Diego Comic Con 2005.png --AllyUnion (talk) 12:58, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Still looks good though. I guess we could get one of him in a scene from SGA sometime. StargateX1 05:48, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I like the new photo much better than the Stargate Atlantis promo shot. He looks tired, but he looks like himself. Longchenpa (talk) 00:40, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Remember you can't use copyrighted images anyway on actor pages. Million_Moments (talk) 14:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes, quite so. Also, this page is for Joe Flanigan and not John Sheppard, so it's better not to have a photo of him in only one of his roles. Ideally we'd have a professional head shot. Longchenpa (talk) 00:32, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Citations

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is the first Stargate cast member for whom I've actually found in-text citations for. :) Spazure 09:03, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Man still looks hot though hon. :D

Elf ears?

Any comments about his pointy elf-like ears? --Navstar 16:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Maybe it should be mentioned in the Trivia section? Penman 1701 22:21, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
It is irrelevant, so no. Also, see WP:TRIV. --FireV 20:46, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Trivia

Perhaps his favorite foods should be revised, both to remove the "etc", and maybe make the list a bit smaller as there are a lot of "favorite" foods. Also, maybe the trivia section should be bulletted... just a thought. Penman 1701 22:19, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

I would say the length of the list is fine, but the choice of the word "favorite" is not. Perhaps we could say he likes to eat. George Bernard Shaw said, "There's no love more sincere than love of food". Which is one of the many quotes that make you think he's a personable and charming fellow but make you realize -in that clever roundabout way of his- what a cynic he really was if you stop and think about it. (Hint: He's essentially saying all other forms of love are insincere.) 68.49.138.170 (talk) 04:49, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Writing credits

It would be nice to add more writing credits to the list if they exist. Does anyone know if he wrote articles for Town & Country and Interview magazine? Longchenpa (talk) 00:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Streetcar deletion?

Any objection to my deleting the mention of his high school production of "A Streetcar Named Desire"? Yes, he was the lead. Yes, Stan Kowalski is a challenging role. But it's high school. It sounds like reaching for earlier experience, somewhere, anywhere, unless contextualized in something like "he developed a love for acting when...." I've not found anything to that effect. Longchenpa (talk) 02:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Never mind. Thank you for finding the cite.Longchenpa (talk) 06:13, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

DirectTV Ad

I've got this strange idea that Joe Flanigan is playing the masked bank robber (it's impossible to know for sure on account of the bandanna mask and sunglasses, which in the version of the ad' I saw he always has on) in the DirecTV ad' starring Dulé Hill. It also makes me wonder about the tat'. Non-permanent; edited out by visual effects artists; did I just never notice it before, or what? If they do any more SG:A projects, will they create a back story for it? Or, am I getting way ahead of myself, because that's just not him, but some guy who has similar hair, and a similar voice? 68.49.138.170 (talk) 05:07, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Haven't seen the ad. If you can support it with a cite, add it. I'd be surprised if it were him. Some film and TV actors are willing to do ads, but Flanigan mentioned he was being choosy about his roles. Longchenpa (talk) 07:50, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Photo Hunt

It would be good if we could get a better (publicly available) photo of him. This one's so-so, and an actor is really summed up in visuals. I'll start looking, but anyone finds a better one, please let me know. Longchenpa (talk) 16:14, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it's one of the better celebrity photos I've seen on Wikipedia. If you can find a nicer one, that's great, but it could be far worse. Good hunting! :) --Ebyabe (talk) 16:19, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
It's decent, but I've seen some fan photos that are really very good. Longchenpa (talk) 04:44, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
