Character of her husband[edit]

The description of her husband (a "nasty, brutal man with scarcely one redeeming quality") has the reference "Butler, Sara Margaret (2013). Divorce in Medieval England: From One to Two Persons in Law. ISBN 9780415825160". Butler in her book references no original source, just another book, "The law courts of medieval England by Alan Harding". However, Harding's book does not contain the quotation nor does it even mention John de Warenne.
