I had the pleasure of tutoring Jerome during his final year at Miami. Unlike many of his teammates among the elite players, he was very kind, personable, humble, and nice. Graduating was important to him as a young man, not just because of NCAA requirements. What happened, with the shooting and his injuries, was so unfortunate, because he is the kind of person who makes it easy to want to root for him, and I'm a Steelers fan!
