When using certain templates on talk pages, as you did to unsigned, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Ryz

A large majority of articles about Tremellales say it belongs to Tremellomycetes, so I remove Heterobasidiomycetes from the remaining articles. Suppose this article should also be changed. --Ettrig (talk) 07:39, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Heterobasidiomycetes vs jelly fungi[edit]

I wrote an article on heterobasidiomycetes. Previously, this (jelly fungi) article implied that heterobasidiomycetes consist of jelly fungi exclusively, however while true in some systems it has not been the case in all of them. Heterobasidiomycetes have frequently included smuts and/or rusts as well. I changed the article a little bit accordingly, however I am quite new to wikipedia and am not sure about what else needs to be changed. For an example does keeping the taxobox make sense for "jelly fungi" given that they are an informal grouping?

I am also not sure about how often heterobasidiomycetes has been reserved to jelly fungi only, if it has been the case in most popular systems in 80s and 90s for example, then it certainly deserves a mention in the heterobasidiomycetes article as well, I will discuss this point there as well.
