Jayabaya Text sic

I propose to delete the whole section headed Jayabaya Text. The reasons are:

• citing literary or folkloric material as though it were factual
• the unsourced statement that the Jayabaya text is an invention
• the confusion between the Sanskrit 'Jayabaya' and the Javanese 'Joyoboyo'
• the confusion between the historical figure Joyoboyo and the prophecies attributed to said historical figure

In the interim I've at least given Joyoboyo a consistent name through the article and altered the section heading to 'Text of Pralembang Joyoboyo'. At minimum the section should be shifted to a separate article for the Pralembang Joyoboyo.

Dangerus Boy, are you sayng that Ranggawarsita invented the prophecies themselves or this version? This unsourced version clealry cannot date from Joyoboyo's reign. Among other things the posted text references Allah (Joyoboyo was a Hindu king who predates the arrival of Islam in the archipelago) and translates ratu as thoigh it can ony mean 'queen'.

I think

I think it better if 'Text of Pralembang Joyoboyo' was separate to different article. BTW: this section is misspled. The 'Pralembang' word doesnt have any mean in javannesse language. Maybe the writer is try to say 'Pralambang' that mean a sign. However, This Ronggowarsito piece of art now was reserved on Local Public Library on Surakarta, Central Java. Its true that Ronggowarsito did not invent this prophecy, he just make his own version and 'update' based on the original 'Jangka Jayabaya' by King Jayabaya from Kadiri. So thats why he use word 'Allah' rather then 'Dewa'. Because Ronggowarsito is a moslem. FYI: 'Ratu' in traditional Java Language means King, and 'Prameswari' means Queen. In fact theres no woman rulers (act as a king) in javannesse tradition.

Why "Joyoboyo"?

Why the article titled "Joyoboyo", not the name according to formal Indonesian history book: "Jayabhaya"? It was almost the same reason why article about the East Java capital is "Surabaya", not "Suroboyo".

I say change it to Jayabhaya. (Gunkarta 10:19, 7 November 2007 (UTC)).

In present-day Javanese the correct spelling is Jayabaya. Because of the Javanese pronunciation in parts of Central Java and in East Java, Indonesians and ignorant Javanese use the spelling Joyoboyo, which is entirely wrong. In Banyumas, Tegal, Cirebon, Indramayu, Sérang etc. people ngapak, i.e. retain the pronunciation [a] and never use [ò] like in Solo and Yogya. Therefore the spelling should always be with a. There is a difference in meaning between, say, lara and loro. The first word means ill, the second two. No reason to confuse them like an ignorant Jakartanese who would write loro for both words. Ratu

As far as I know, in Javanese language, Ratu isn't Queen.
Ratu is the person who rule the Keraton / Keratuan.
Queen is translated as Prameswari / Permaisuri

Description of Dutch subjugation

I submit that the wholly one-sided representation of the Dutch's treatment of the various ethnic groups of current-day Indonesia and E. Timor should be revised to provide a brief but accurate portrayal of the many abuses and crimes committed by the VOC agent.
