Interference

The Indian government, its loyalists and security operatives are likely to be active on this page to make changes to fit their propaganda model. As part of the Sikh genocide, it is has been a strategy of the Indian government to repeatedly change history books, school lesson plans, and media reports to give a false image of the Sikh activists that were demanding civil rights from the 1970's to current time. Wikipedia moderators must beware of this attack on the standards of this website.

Rebuttal

The article as currently posted is a grotesque distortion of facts. In fact Jarnail Singh Bhindarawale was a terrorist of the most virulent type. His followers carried out wide-spread murder, torture and intimidation over the course of several years in Punjab and neighbouring states, including the Indian capital Delhi, with the aim of creating a separate Khalistan for Sikhs. He turned the holy Golden Temple into an arsenal and headquarters from which terrorists went out to bomb and murder before coming back to take refuge in the knowledge that the government would not dare pursue them there. Opponents and moderates among the Sikhs were tortured in the temple under his directions and their bodies would frequently turn up in the lanes surrounding the temple or later found buried in the temple grounds.

Reference manipulation-1:

A contributor has put words in Bhindranwale's mouth by citing R. S. Sandhu's book for this quote - "We won't reject it. It is upto Government of India. We shall not repeat 1947." May I point out that this is pure manipulation of the words of the speaker and that of the source itself because by cutting the middle part of the talk the whole meaning of the speaker has been made opposite. Please do not play these kind of tactics on wikipedia and spread hate, the world is already full/sick of it. Here is what Bhindranwale said (according to the cited source) on being asked about his stand on Khalistan - "I don't oppose it nor do I support it. We are silent. However, one thing is definite that if this time the Queen of India does give it to us, we shall certainly take it. We won't reject it. We shall not repeat the mistake of 1947. As yet, we do not ask for it. It is Indira Gandhi's business and not mine, nor Longowal's, nor of any other of our leaders. It is Indira's business. Indira should tell us whether she wants to keep us in Hindostan or not. We like to live together, we like to live in India." (stress mine). I am going to fix this quote, hereafter. Thanks, --RoadAhead =Discuss= 02:19, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

The reality of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale

Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale used vituperative language against the Hindus. He exhorted every Sikh to kill 32 Hindus to solve the Hindu-Sikh problem. Anyone who opposed him was put on his hit list and some eliminated. His hoodlums murdered Lala Jagat Narain, founder of the Hind Samachar group of papers. They killed hawkers who sold their papers.[1] Under His Reign of Terror, The Houses of Hindus had been marked out by the Sikh Neighbours, so that they would be slaughtered on June 2 1984, after which the Particular house would be occupied by the Sikhs. He openly threatened Hindus to leave Punjab or die, had Government not taken a swift action, India would have noticed another 1947 in 1984.It is Irony that Sikhs outside Punjab had to suffer, which was actually Planted by the Him During Operation Bluestar it was not Pilgrims who were killed but Terrorists, who were armed to teeth along with Pakistani Commandos(disguised as Sikhs). The People rescued from the Complex was a Startling discovery with over 150 Nude women in advanced stage of Pregnancy(most of them were German Women)who were treated at the Army Hospital in Jalandhar. This whole plan was fuelled by Pakistan & Funded by USA & UK along with Canada & West Germany. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jutt sikh (talkcontribs) 18:29, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Reference manipulation-2:

Further, it is followed up by this text - To which he added, "if the Indian Government invaded the Darbar Sahib complex, the foundation for an independent Sikh state will have been laid."[4]. This is once again not good faith editing as the text smell of deliberate attempt of twisting the words and using half-quotes to hide facts and reflect otherwise. The way the half-quote has been added by pre-pending the pharse "To which he added" is being done to reflect as if the speaker is threatening which according to source is not the case. This is what the source quotes -

"There were persons, some of them even close to Sant Bhindranwale[5], who supported an independent state but he himself was not one of them. Sant Longowal is said to have confirmed that, as late as June 5, 1984, Sant Bhindranwale refused to declare his support for an independent state. He did, however, declare that if the Indian Government invaded the Darbar Sahib complex, foundation for an independent Sikh state will have been laid. This was to emphasize that the invasion would unalterably confirm the Government as an enemy of the Sikhs. The Khalistan bogey was apparently a creation of the Indian Government responding to the clamor of the extremist factions among the Punjabi Hindus."

Reference manipulation-3:

There is this further content which seems problematic attribution of POV to the BBC report. The text in current form on article says - To which he added, "if the Indian Government invaded the Darbar Sahib complex, the foundation for an independent Sikh state will have been laid."[6] The BBC reported that he was daring law enforcement to react to his actions of fortifying the Golden Temple in order to bolster support.[7] I have gone through the BBC video cited here and it does not say anything about the quote from R. S. Sandhu's book being seen by BBC as provocation of "daring to attack". --RoadAhead =Discuss= 03:05, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Image of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale was intententionaly maligned

The image of Sant Jarnail Singh was intentionaly maligined by then government. Neither he was terrorist nor a sepratist. It was government controlled media campaign which has made him the extermist. The demands were neither radical nor exxragrated. It was just a charter of human rights. Right of freedom, right of expression, right to choose religious faith, right to prosper with more autonomy to states. If he would have lust of power then he would have not died rather survived like Parkash Singh Badal and Tohra to reap the benifits by becoming touts of Indira Gandhi. The missionary was gaining popularity and Akali Dal feared of loosing thier existence so they backed up the morcha started by Sant Jarnail Singh. Later on these Akalis fled and seceretly joined hands with Indira Gandhi and asked for army to control the situation. There was no lawlessness at that time. It was just a policital game that Sant who was just a religious preacher failed to understand. Parkash Singh Badal and Tohra has secretly written letter to Indira Gandhi to attack on Golden Temple. They know once Bhindrawale and Lonogowal is out of thier way then they will become masters and they succedeed in thier plans. That is why Badal family is ruling in Punjab and now Badal has joined hands with BJP the hindu fundamentalist those who have earlier kiilled sikhs and muslims in Gujrat.

Indira gandhi succeeded in its plans as she wanted strong hindu sentiments with her to come in power. The same game was again played by BJP to come in power at cost of Muslim lifes.

So before using words like 'extermist' 'terrorist' 'seprarist' 'radical' for Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale we should be fully aware of the complete facts it was not he who was the terrorsit but the Indira Gandhi, Congress Party and Indian Army those who have killed innocent pilgrims in such a sacred place which only teaches to love total humanity. The doors of which are open to all. The true sikh always wishes well being of total humanity in his arrdass (prayer) 'Sarbat da Bhala'. Every true sikh has to treat all human beings at par that were the teachings of sikhism and Sant Jarnail Singh.

So before anybody comment please see both sides of the coin and then only comment with fair judgement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ranjodh80 (talkcontribs) 17:06, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I think he brought a lot of things onto himself, but no doubt Indira Gandhi (and her son Sanjay Gandhi) had a lot to do with it. Bhindranwala initially canvassed for Congress no doubt, but when he realised he was being made a patsy, he turned on them. He has been described as Indira Gandhi's Frankenstein [1].[2]. The external link to "Why Osama resembles Bhindranwale" is inaccurate and creates the impression of a connection between sikhs and muslims - considering what's happened in the US recently, this link is unwarranted. It does not add anything to the narrative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adskhurana (talkcontribs) 06:26, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

BIAS

i fear the article is being used as a propaganda tool for both sides, those who are against him and support him. the politics sections especially highlights the partiality of the page. it presents information and then refutes it. wikipedia should not be analytical. in situations like this, where the perception is subjective to different people, we should not allow wikipedia to be tainted with bias. we should just present the known information with citiations and that's it.

This Article not conforming the NPOV

This article requires more intention as this articles violates the Wikipedia fundamentals. Possible changes has been made especially external links ,who are spoiling the Sikh Identity by comapring them with Terrorists. --Dilpreet Singh Virdi (talk) 16:52, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Requires your Attention

Death Cause : Martyr Or Killed?

  • Status of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale had been cleared by the Sikh Highest body Akal Takht and declares him Martyr officially , Akal Takhat has put Sant ji picture in Golden Temple Museum as per the tradition to respect every Sikh Martyr. Which means the Majority of the Sikh seems him as Martyr, the word "Killed" is inappropriate & leading a disrespect to a Martyrdom. So please provide the reason for keep using "Killed" word by Wikipedia contributors.
He was killed, just as Ghandi was assassinated, not martyred. India's Martyr's Day is observed on 30 January to mark the death of Ghandi's death, but his Wiki page does not call him a martyr. Hopefully this gives context. Moriori (talk) 03:06, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

External Reference

  • To project the Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale as Terrorist and comparing With Osama bin Laden is direct attack on Community & spreading Hatred among Others for Sikh, There is No Discussion on the addition of these([[2]],[[3]]) links to the main article , Wiki Contributor should provide the valid reason for addition .

Misleading info

  • As said by the Wikipedia contributor "thirteen members of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha and three Nirankaris" in section "Role in the militancy" has no backup for three Nirankaris Killed? FYI , The group of Sikh went for peaceful protest and do Gurbani Kirtan outside the Nirankari Bhawan were unarmed except with their required Kirpan. Official figure for Killed during protest were 13 Only & all were Sikh.

Terrorist Or militant

  • Word Terrorist has say "the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion." which is an Inappropriate word to use in this article. As there is no such things happen from the Sant Jarnail Singh ji Lobby rather it was from Indian government who use threats, Kill many Innocent , trickery, or some other form of pressure or force to suppress the rights of Sikh & till now they has Suppress. KPS Gill has Killed more than 25,000 Sikh in punjab , under his command many women , Girls were raped & In police station they had made daughter naked in front of his father force then to do sex , So tell me Who is Terrorist ?

Indian Government
