File:IvI Adamou from Cyprus Eurovision 2012.png Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:IvI Adamou from Cyprus Eurovision 2012.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Quality assessment[edit]

A reassessment request has been submitted at WikiProject Eurovision. The article clearly fulfils the criteria for C-class rating. However, it may potentially fulfil B-class criteria too. Therefore I am undergoing an assessment check to see if the article fulfils all of the 6 criteria required for B-class. Wes Mᴥuse 18:31, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

B assessment[edit]

1: The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary.

It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. The use of <ref> tags and citation templates such as {{cite web}} is optional, but not required.
  •  No: There are a few sections that have no citations to verify the content. The first paragraph of the Early Life section has a citation verifying her Bulgarian origins, but nothing to verify she has two sisters or to prove she took part in a competition at the age of 9.
  • The first 3 paragraphs covering her 2009-2010 career have no citations to verify what has been written.
  • The rest of the article however, is well cited. Wes Mᴥuse 18:44, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sources on the Early Life section added. As for the 2009–2010 section: can I use the {{cite episode}} template as I can't find any articles reporting summaries for each live show? Greek media are kind of crap about such things. Maybe I could also use YouTube videos with Adamou's performance? Dimitris  talk 12:16, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I thought Facebook wouldn't be a reliable source but if it is, then I have some from there. Thanks, I'll try to cite the section asap. Dimitris  talk 07:03, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done. I hope the sources are okay. Dimitris  talk 07:47, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've acknowledged. I was in the middle of checking, but got side-tracked with real-life (trying to prepare a surprise birthday meal for a close friend). I'll finish off the checking later today and leave you a note once I'm done. Wes Mᴥuse 18:19, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, you can take your time. Sometimes I'm so impatient but I can really wait. Thanks in advance. Dimitris  talk 18:30, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2: The article reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies.

It contains a large proportion of the material necessary for an A-Class article, although some sections may need expansion, and some less important topics may be missing.

3: The article has a defined structure.

Content should be organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind.
  •  Yes: Although the section titled "other ventures" is only referencing her charity work. Perhaps renaming this section as "Charitable work" would be more suitable. Wes Mᴥuse 18:52, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

4: The article is reasonably well-written.

The prose contains no major grammatical errors and flows sensibly, but it certainly need not be "brilliant". The Manual of Style need not be followed rigorously.
  •  Yes - This criteria is sufficiently fulfilled. Wes Mᴥuse 18:52, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

5: The article contains supporting materials where appropriate.

Illustrations are encouraged, though not required. Diagrams and an infobox etc. should be included where they are relevant and useful to the content.

6: The article presents its content in an appropriately understandable way.

It is written with as broad an audience in mind as possible. Although Wikipedia is more than just a general encyclopedia, the article should not assume unnecessary technical background and technical terms should be explained or avoided where possible.
  • Overall the article has failed to meet one of the criteria for B-class, although it fulfils all criteria for C-class. Therefore I am rating this article as C on the quality scale. Wes Mᴥuse 18:52, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Passed

  •  Yes: - The article now fulfills all of the criterion for B-class. Wes Mᴥuse 16:35, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
