Fair use rationale for Image:Shaggy-wasn't-me.jpg[edit]

Image:Shaggy-wasn't-me.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Parody[edit]

There was a parody of this song called "She Gotta Pee" but I don't know who did it. All the lyrics websites I go to say it's a Weird Al song, but it's definitely not him.

It's quite maddening because I desperately want to know who did it (for all I know, it could have been Shaggy himself!) On the radio station that I listen to (KSTP-FM) the deejays play the parody instead of the original, and they do it quite often, too.

The lyrics go something like this:

Got a girl with a real small bladder Knocking on the bathroom door Busted in and she barely made it She dribbled on the bathroom floor

She gotta pee, etc.

Any help would be appreciated! There definitely should be some mention of the parody, because for some people (including myself) it's actually more familiar than the original.

Since lyrics sites aren't an accurate, verifiable source, I suggest that the parody reference either be removed from the article completely, or the attribution to Weird Al be removed. There are hundreds of songs that are incorrectly attributed to Weird Al, just because he's (arguably) the most popular parody artist. 151.196.121.156 (talk) 04:46, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So who did the parody? Surely it's of pertinence to an article with a whole section which infers 'parody'.......... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.151.145.216 (talk) 23:02, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Background[edit]

The section fails to mention the ending of the song, where Shaggy's friend essentially says that his advice makes no sense, and he intends to go back to his girl and just say he's sorry.--77.13.42.186 (talk) 12:21, 11 November 2011 (UTC) The last verse of the song does include Shaggy saying he's sorry for the pain he's caused but this is after his categorical denial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:6000:C305:78DF:58DC:CCA6:FB2B:EACB (talk) 07:18, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Chart Performance Dates[edit]

The current article states that the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2000, yet the following sentence says it peaked at number 2 for two weeks. According to a web archive of Billboard back in 2001, the website mentions it peaked at #1 for two weeks in February 2001.
