DuBose Heyward[edit]

Another version[edit]

Controversy[edit]

There is this statement that the song is controversial for casting doubt on the veracity of the Bible. Citation needed. Hmm, I remember to have read something about it. Even that some Christian Schools would forbid the song to be performed or so. But I can't find anything about it via Google. Do you have any evidence? It would be great!
