This article presents an interesting survey of "Internet linguistics" as a subfield of applied linguistics. There is much information presented here, and this article has the potential to reach "good article" status - but it is not there yet.
The article needs to be made more well-rounded, clear and concise. Parts of the article are off-topic and can be pruned. There is also too much reliance on a single source (Crystal) - a greater variety of sources are available and should be used. In places content appears to have been lifted from Crystal's text without sufficient adaption to fit smoothly into the new text.
Incorrect capitalization needs to be corrected in places. The use of footnotes is not always clear (e.g. [1]), and is sometimes lacking - e.g. in section "Language documentation". The section title "Exploitation of the Internet" could be changed to suit the text below - maybe replace word "exploitation" with "abuse". Not clear that "conspiracies" is correct word. Expand discussion of forensic linguistics.
"Web as corpus" section needs a 'see also' link. Description of parallel corpora is unclear. "British National Corpus" - far too specific to have it's own section. Replace with a paragraph and link to BNC's own article.
"The multilingual Web": The figures quoted are very out of date, and conflict with information presented in sec. "Applied perspective". Estimated web size: need to provide a date for these figures, as the size is increasing constantly. "Language modelling" - need to explain what is meant by this term. Not clear that paragraph on sublanguages is necessary or useful. The amount of space devoted to web corpora is not necessary.
Sentence on film festivals/independent films doesn't appear relevant. "The use of Internet slangs has affected the proper use of punctuations" - it has affected to use of punctuation, but perhaps not the "proper use". Sentence on Chapter 21 Trails of the Eclipse is too specific - remove. Explain how "mistakes were reinforced by the transmission of the works over the Internet". Africa is not a country.
However, given some further work, this article has the potential to meet the requirements for a "good article".
