Number of Students[edit]

The school diary mentions there ae about 13,000 students, not 15,000 as written in the left column.Fauzan (talk) 19:01, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was then. Now the text says 12,000 and the infobox 13,500. Which is it, or rather, which can be sourced? (I saw the figure 12,000 on the school's website.) Bishonen | talk 20:32, 7 June 2013 (UTC).[reply]

Removal of trivial details + request for more pertinent information[edit]

There was much too much triviality in this article. Drmies has removed some of it, and I've removed some. All schools have the kinds of facilities described, unless they're just little village schools. And this one has 12,000 students (or 13,500, see above) and Indira Ghandi laid the foundation! How on earth could it not have Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Home Science labs? Or libraries with reference and reading areas? (What kinds of libraries anywhere don't have both those types of areas?) My own secondary school, with one tenth the number of students, had all that stuff.

It would be nice if somebody would like to add more information that's interesting and relevant, to take the place of the removed trivia. For instance, the separation of boys and girls is only hinted at. Gender-separated library sections are quite unusual in most parts of the world. Could somebody write up the subject of girls more fully? Questions that come to mind are: are there equal numbers of boys and girls? Has the school been open to girls right from the start, or when did it become so? Drmies removed the "Sections and blocks" section, very reasonably, but would somebody like to write up the intriguing hints about gender separation that got removed along with that section? I'm thinking of sentences like "Until completion of construction of a new boys' section building in 1994, separate shift system was followed in the same building for boys and girls. Also, the policy of the Ministry of Education Saudi Arabia does not favor co-education." (What exactly is a "separate shift system"? That may be obvious to you, but it isn't to me.) Please give some more focus to that theme, it's good stuff; never mind the trivial list of blocks and sections and letter codes and numbers.

What ages are the school for, exactly? The introductory section says it's a secondary school. But the "Courses offered" speaks of primary and secondary levels, and the removed "Sections and blocks" section even mentioned Kindergarten. That's quite confusing. I agree on the trivial nature of this article. The problem here is the lack of or disorgonised sources which give parts of information, the rest depends on the familiarity of a person. The school has all the classes from KG to 12th. About the gender separation topic, it found a place in the erstwhile Sections and Blocks. Maybe the section can be revived without the trivial info?
