The original author allowed me to create this page that is referenced at the end of the page —Preceding unsigned comment added by Warste (talkcontribs) 20:57, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the "original author" of Incognito (contact me through the Incognito homepage for authentication). I have neither allowed nor disallowed the creation of this page -- in fact I don't care much about what people do with my texts from the Incognito homepage and they are not copyrighted. But to be honest I don't think this is the way to write a wikipedia article. Unless it's rewritten in an encyclopedic style, and that it's checked that it complies with other policy for wikipedia content, I agree with its deletion. However, I don't care about the "copyright infringement" if that's the only issue. 130.243.154.119 (talk) 22:14, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The present page sucks, needs to be rewritten from scratch -- if the distro satisfies WP:Notability that is. Copyright is not the only issue here. I'll check distrowatch and other places for references and notability. -Abhishek Talk 03:00, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I definitely agree that this entry is of low quality and should be removed just because of that unless someone improves it. I will refrain from doing that myself as it's a bit too much like self-promotion. Regarding notability, Incognito have had ~20K downloads, has been featured in the August 2008 issue of Linux Magazine (the European one I think) and is sort of officially endorsed by the Tor Project, for whatever all that's worth. An application has been sent to distrowatch not very long ago, but it's not on their site yet (if ever, I don't know about their acceptance criteria). 130.243.154.119 (talk) 13:57, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the above reasons, the project is now defunct. 94.222.98.116 (talk) 02:46, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the clumsiness I wrote my first page. The main purpose was to provide a high level description and the link to the original website since this page has been already referenced in Wikipedia (in fact I found the empty wikipedia reference looking for the distribution itself). Sure the page need improvements. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.97.2.33 (talk) 14:11, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Incognito (operating system). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
