Nixon resigned from office on August 9, 1974, before the House received the committee's recommendation for action.
- I have removed this sentence. I cannot verify whether the final report was submitted before or after August 9, when Nixon resigned. Per MOS:LEDE, reduce the paragraphs to three or four paragraphs; this could fairly easily be done by merging the first and second, and third and fourth, IMO.
