Why "Idiot Fruit"[edit]
It would be nice to have an explanation of the origin of this name. 14.200.248.63 (talk) 04:53, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
Additional Info[edit]
The tree was first discovered in 1902 by German botanist Ludwig Diels who documented and collected its flower and took it back to the Berlin Herbarium. But that specimen was destroyed in a fire in 1943 caused by a bombing raid by the Allies.
For several years botanists failed to recognise the tree’s uniqueness, arguing that Diels’ discovery was merely a garden plant that had somehow made its way into Queensland’s wet tropics. https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/topics/science-environment/2017/07/the-idiot-fruit-tree/ 14.200.248.63 (talk) 04:58, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
My recent edits[edit]
For anyone following this article, I think I am done with my improvements and expansions - for now 😉 I believe it is a much more coherent work than it was a week ago. I'd still welcome any suggestions for more improvements though. Junglenut |Talk 10:03, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
