Song he used to play a lot?[edit]

Death date[edit]

There is an inconsistency between sources over whether he died on Monday 20 April - https://syncopatedtimes.com/pop-idol-turned-ragtime-legend-ian-whitcomb-has-died-at-78/ - or the previous day - https://bestclassicbands.com/ian-whitcomb-you-turn-me-on-obituary-4-20-20/. A nice man[edit]

He was a nice man. In the late '70s I performed for LA's Maple Leaf (ragtime) Club, and he bothered to approach me afterwards to tell me how much he enjoyed my set. I'm saddened to learn he's no longer with us. This doesn't have anything to do with his bio, but others who knew him may appreciate it. – AndyFielding (talk) 12:52, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
